Carl Douglas “Doug” Haggard announced that he has received a Key Endorsement from Former Texas Ranger and Sheriff of Fort Bend County, Milton Wright and his wife, Marian, for Texas Congressional District 22, the seat being vacated by Pete Olson.

HOUSTON — Carl Douglas “Doug” Haggard, a former Assistant District Attorney and a Chief Prosecutor for Harris County in both Misdemeanor and District Courts, is a candidate in the Republican Primary for Texas Congressional District 22.

The Wrights said about Haggard that:

“[Haggard] has the right ideas to try to ‘put the federal beast back into its constitutional cage’, as he likes to say.”

The Wrights also citied Haggard’s background as a former Harris County Assistant District Attorney and a Chief Prosecutor in Misdemeanor and District Courts, and stated that they know “[H]aggard will ‘Back the Blue’.”

The Wrights concluded:

“Please support Carl Douglas “Doug” Haggard in this worthy fight for which he is imminently qualified.”

Haggard said of this Key Endorsement:

Houston Attorney Carl Douglas Haggard announces filing as a Republican candidate for Texas Congressional District 22, the seat being vacated by Pete Olson.

HOUSTON—Carl Douglas Haggard, a former Assistant District Attorney and a Chief Prosecutor for Harris County, the founder of the Haggard Law Firm, announces his candidacy for the Republican Primary for Texas Congressional District 22.

Haggard is a Fiscal Conservative, a strong supporter of our Civil Liberties and of our Bill of Rights under the Texas and the U.S. Constitutions.

“My background and experience make me the best match for Texas Congressional District 22,” Haggard said Tuesday.

The District includes the majority of Fort Bend County, including Sugar Land, Missouri City, Rosenberg, Needville, Richmond as well as a portion of the Greater Katy area. It also contains portions of northern Brazoria County, including Pearland and Alvin. The District also comprises a portion of southeast Harris County centered on Friendswood.
